25 Tools To Increase Website Traffic Part 18
Previously in the article 25 Tools To Increase Website Traffic Part 17, we discussed the shift towards building relationships and a sense of community as a means for driving even more traffic to your website and/or blog. This part of what has been coined as “In-Bound Marketing” which is a shift away from the traditional methods of marketing. And it also meshes well with the shift towards social search.
Another method of In-Bound Marketing is what we will touch upon in this article – commenting. More specifically, making yourself seen and heard in the comment sections of other websites. This is especially useful when you already have a professional profile established, with a link to your website or blog included.
#18 – Be Heard in the Comment Section
It is probably a safe bet to assume that you visit at least a few websites that are relevant to your business on a regular basis. You are also most likely a member of at least one or two groups in social media that are industry-specific to you and your business. Either way, why not join in on the various conversations?
The key here is to have some thoughtful feedback, insight or even thought-provoking comments. This is a great way to build authority and get your name as well as the name of your business. But the thing to keep in mind here is to keep your comments relevant to the conversation and to offer something different or at least higher quality than what has already been shared.
Just be sure that you are not simply spamming links; no one likes a spammer and you will likely be excluded from commenting again! It must be emphasized that the goal here is to share your expertise and experience in a manner that others find value in.
You need to realize that this will not likely show immediate results. It may not provide a boost in traffic right away either. However, over time as you are building a name for yourself and raising awareness of your brand/business, the traffic will come. The more useful the input you have, the sooner this will happen – just keep in mind that this is a long-term strategy to build your traffic incrementally. Plus it has the extra added bonus of helping to build more back-links for you too.
