Social Media: How to CRUSH your competition in 30 days!

Social Media: How to CRUSH your competition in 30 days!

In the previous article, Social Media: Social Selling Part 2, the key concept was setting up your social media for finding and attracting the right group of people.  The foundation for targeting your ideal audience starts with your social media profiles (i.e. Professional Branding), as was discussed in Social Media: Social Selling.  Once that solid foundation is in place, you will be ready to move on.

But what is Professional Branding?

Depending on the source and even the industry you may be referencing, it means a lot of different things to just as many different people.  However, for the sake of simplicity and our sanity, we will only be using this term in the context of marketing a business or organization.  Specifically, this article will cover Professional Branding from the aspect of Social Selling.

Step #1 – Professional Branding

Think of Professional Branding for Social Selling as your digital business card.  Like a physical business card, your online ‘business card’ will typically be the first impression someone may have of you and your business, company or organization.  That is why it is absolutely vital to have a carefully crafted LinkedIn profile that showcases you and your talents.

But let’s take that a step further.  Everyone these days it seems is on Facebook and Twitter to name just two.  If you are already on either social media website, consider expanding your online presence by creating a Facebook page and a Twitter account just for your business.  This also helps to keep your personal life and your professional life cleanly separated – the idea here is to keep your personal musings and rants as just that, personal.  Yet in all cases, you want your Professional Brand to have the same or similar messages across the board.

Keep this in mind: 74% of all Internet users are on social networking websites and 46% of all online users rely on social media when making a purchasing decision (Sources: Nielsen & Pew Research Center).

Just realize that the first step is creating those professional profiles and company pages.  A great tool to help you get started with Professional Branding is RVHWD’s Digital Marketing Services – its easy, quick and it produces amazing results!
