Social Media: Give it a Boost!
Previously in the article titled, Social Media: Easy Upkeep! we discussed the very real need for coordination and automation across multiple social media websites. Otherwise, social media marketing will become time-consuming as well as labor-intensive.
But what if you are only just getting started with a social media presence with no followers or even have a presence on one or two of the major social networks, but have precious few followers?
The answers are the same whether you are just getting started with no followers or you are a pro with a million-billion-gazillion followers – you need to leverage all of your marketing channels to boost your social media presence.
Leverage Marketing To Give Your Social Media A Boost
To squeeze every little bit of return out of your social media marketing, you will need to also leverage the power of all your other marketing channels. This includes everything else from business cards and brochures to email marketing lists and your business blog. But for the sake of simplicity, let’s take a look at just the main three online/Internet channels.
Integrating Social Media and Email – Every time that you send out some sort of email to your customers, it needs to have social media buttons that are linked to your accounts on Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. You should also add social media sharing buttons too (i.e. “Share/Like on Facebook” or “Tweet This!”). These simple steps will help to build your base of fans as well as raise awareness of your brand.
Integrating Social Media and Business Blogging – Every single post that you publish on your blog should have social media buttons to make it easy for readers to like or share the content with their network. Additionally, you should be monitoring the performance of your blog content to see what performs best, so that you can then give it more face-time on other social media channels.

Integrating Social Media and SEO – The fine line between social media and search engines is starting to get blurry. Use the same keyword strategy for your website and/or blog and use it for your social media content. Include back-links to your website or blog to also help with your link-building efforts. Just keep it foremost in your mind, social media content is being indexed by the search engines – squeeze all the love you can out of it!
