Business Blogging 101 Part 18
The last time around in Business Blogging 101 Part 17, you learned about two more ideas for generating more traffic to your website. You can do that easily just with adding links to your website and blog in your email signature. This can be an amazing source of website traffic, so be sure to use those links in your email signature every single time you send an email to anyone!
The other concept that was covered was creating a contest or even multiple contest throughout the year that drives traffic to your website and/or blog. But this concept can also be used to drive your social media presence as well. In either case, you are looking to have someone sign up for your blog, like your social media pages or be tweeting or blogging about your business.
But there are more techniques, so lets take a look at a couple more…
#7 Blog Directories
Blog directories number in the hundreds, perhaps even more, some of which are free and others that are not-so-free. But for promoting your blog, Blog Directories offer you another opportunity for doing so ‘legally’ without resorting to spamming or other shady practices. However you do not have to submit your blog to each and every one of these directories; instead focus your efforts on the top 30 or 40 directories. The results are that this will generate more traffic to your website as well as generating more in-bound links that will give you better search engine ranking.
The old adage goes that a picture is worth a thousand words. That being the case, a video is worth at least a thousand pictures! For example, check out the narrative on this Web Design Project that RVHWD completed and the positive impact that videos will have!
But you video doesn’t need to be fancy, just create a short one that introduces what your blog is about and what the mission is. Publish it to YouTube, Vimeo or any of the numerous other video sharing sites out there in order to reach an entirely new audience and post it on your website too. You can always get creative with this too by making it funny or even controversial.
But no matter what, make sure that the video links back to your website or blog!
Submit your blog to the top blog-site directories to help drive more traffic to your website/blog as well as creating more in-bound links. This helps to drive your search engine ranking closer to the first page and the top spot, giving your blog more authority.
Be sure to create at least an introductory video that explains what your blog is about and what you intend to accomplish with it. Post this video on one or more of the video hosting/sharing websites to help reach new audiences and drive more traffic to your blog and website. Be sure to include a link back to your website and/or blog too!
These are just two more of many ways that you can successfully promote your website and blog. Using more than one of these tools will get you better results. Using all of them will get you the best results.
