25 ways to increase website traffic

In the previous installment of this series, 25 Tools To Increase Website Traffic Part 7, we discussed the need for finding and using long-tail keywords to boost high-commercial-intent traffic to your website.  The reason for this is quite simple; when a person is ready to buy something, they use very specific terms when searching for products or services when using a search engine.  Discovering what those key terms or phrases are will help you rise to the top of search engine results and boost your bottom line!

But there are more ways to generate traffic over the long-term.  One such way is called Guest Blogging.

#8 – Become A Guest Blogger

Contrary to what you may have heard, true guest blogging is not dead or a thing of the past.  There are still many opportunities out there to become a guest blogger, but you need to find a reputable blog before it will help you with Off-Page SEO or increasing visitor traffic to your website or build your brand into a household word.  The trick is to do your homework in order to find these reputable opportunities.

Standards for guest blogging have changed dramatically over the past two years or so and using spam tactics could result in pretty stiff penalties.  The goal with guest blogging is the same as it is on your own website; creating useful content.  As long as you follow that one golden rule, even the gods at Google will overlook you despite the growing propensity of spammers to use guest blogging.  The fact of the matter is, spammers abuse SEO too, but that is still an integral part of getting your website found in search engine results.

Become a Guest Blogger creating good content and awesome relationships – the website traffic will find you!

Summary

Finding a reputable website to become a guest blogger is less about creating awesome content than it is about creating awesome relationships.  As long as you are not creating spammy content or blogging for a blog-farm website, Google and the other anti-spam search engines will not consider you or your website to be one of their ilk.
