In the last article, 25 Tools To Increase Website Traffic Part 6, we discussed the absolute need for Internal Linking as well as looking for the opportunities to do so. This is part of your overall On-Page SEO strategies that were discussed in Part 5 of this series and we will continue the discussion with related information in this installment.
Specifically, this time around we will take a look at keywords as they are an important part of On-Page SEO. But there seems to be an under-utilized subset of keywords that when used properly, can boost highly-targeted website traffic.
#7 – Long-Tail Keywords
Long-Tail Keywords are phrases of three or four keywords that people use when they are looking for something very specific and typically ready to spend money on. In other words, when a searcher uses a highly specified search phrase, they are looking for whatever it is that they are going to buy. Coincidentally, in recent years these sort of searches now account for the majority of all web searches. What this means is that if you are not using Long-Tail Keywords as part of your SEO efforts, you are missing out!
The idea here is that once you have your high commercial intent keyword base covered, it is then time to do your homework with long-tail keywords too. How you find them is by doing your research and there are a number of options out there to help you do just that. Some are free, others are not so free and your mileage may vary greatly, so get out there and experiment to see what works best for you. But always keep track of your results.
SEO consists of two major components, the first of which is On-Page SEO. As part of your On-Page SEO, one of the areas you need to pay attention to is your keywords, your high commercial intent keywords and especially the long-tail keywords. There are a lot of options out there to help you with this, but the main thing to keep in mind is that with highly specified search comes highly qualified website traffic that is ready to buy from you.
