25 Tools To Increase Website Traffic Part 2
In the first article of this series, titled 25 Tools To Increase Website Traffic, you learned that there are quite a few ways to build traffic to your website. The first article covered just the very first of these 25 Tools, starting with the obvious first step – online advertising. But as you learned in that article, there is a lot more to online advertising than initially meets the eye.
Specifically, advertising was broken down into three parts, but that is not an all-inclusive treatment of the subject. Rather the main focus was on Paid Search, Social Media & Display Advertising.
However, this time around, lets take a look at another fairly obvious means of driving more visitors to your website – getting your social (media) on.
#2 Social Media
It is not enough to just have a website to describe your company, your products and/or services as well as your brand. It is not enough to also create unique or compelling content and hope that people find it through search engines alone. And it is no longer enough to also spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars in advertising for your website; you have to get proactive about it!
One of the best and coincidentally free methods for promoting your business, driving more traffic to your website and showcasing your content is by using the various social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube. Each social media channel has its ideal uses, such as Twitter for short, catchy phrases and links or Google+ can help your website in personalized social search. LinkedIn is strong for Business-to-Business whereas Pinterest and Instagram heavily favor Business-to-Customer companies that offer products.
However, in order to properly leverage any social media, you must first be creating compelling content that sparks discussion. Creating compelling content does not need to be a mystery; if you are not familiar with the concepts, be sure to check out the Business Blogging 101 series of articles that shows you in easy step-by-step progression how to create buzz for your blog.
Of course your business also needs to have accounts on the social media platforms in order to promote your business and drive traffic to your website. Start with the big ones first and expand from there. Create a company page on Facebook. Start a Twitter for Business account and get your business listed on Google+, then you can start sharing your content with a large audience.
As you get the feel for promoting your content on these platforms, start looking for tools to automate the process of sharing your blog content on the social media websites. Experiment with the many tools that are available in order to make this process as easy as possible without it becoming overly time-consuming. Then start expanding your sphere of influence by adding even more of the social media websites to your growing social media base.
